Mountrath support homeless

A number of senior students from Mountrath Community School braved the cold on October 21 to take part in the national Sleepout for Simon.

With hundreds of others they spent the night in O'Moore Park, Portlaoise, in sleeping bags on cardboard.

The event raised money for local homeless services, which the students did by getting sponsorship cards filled.

“The hardest challenge was the cold, but we made the most of the night,” said Emma Weston.

“The music from Comhaltas and comradeship between everyone was fantastic,” said Joe Moore.
