Mountrath Community School student to raise funds for Make-a-Wish

Students of Mountrath Community School will be loosing sleep for the 'Make-A-Wish' foundation this week.
A Stay Awake has been organised in the school by TY students on the Friday, December 9th.

All TY students have been given sponsorship cards to raise money for the children's charity which works to grant the wishes of children with medical conditions.

Students must stay awake for 24 hours over December 9th and 10th.The stay awake begins at 9am Friday and ends at 9am Saturday. There are various activities planned for the night including various sports, bonding activities and activities that involve team work like table quizzes.

TY students also hope to organise a sports blitz for first years and a day where all students wear blue in order to raise more money and awareness for the charity.

The event has been sponsored by companies such as Costcutters, O'Moore bus transport, Eddie Phelan's in Mountrath and Ballyfin House.

The Stay Awake is part in a student entrepreneur national competition between other secondary schools around the country. The winner will the school that can raise the most amount of money for the charity.
