It's Pantomine season.. oh no it isn't... oh yes it is!
In Mountmellick the tradition is kept alive and well by the Macra group, and this year they are preparing a week of lavish Arabian nights for the community to enjoy.
The group are busy rehearsing for Aladdin, and it promises to be a magical show of music, drama and comedy to ease away the February chills.
They will present Aladdin along with his genie, the evil Jafar and beautiful princess Jasmine, in their own cosy hall off Patrick Street, from Thursday to Sunday, February 22 to 25.
Shows on Thursday, Friday and Saturday are at 8.15pm, while Sunday features a matinee at 1.30 and a final show at 7pm.
With tickets at just €8 for adults and €5 for children (€5 for all on Thursday night), it's a pocket friendly night out for all the family, with main sponsors Mountmellick Credit Union.
Tickets on sale shortly from O'Gorman's Newsagents.
