The Mountrath Community Forum has launched a big fundraising draw and is also involved with two upcoming community events.
Smashing prizes are on offer in the Community Forum draw announced last week.
“Have we got a sur-prize for you! Three of them actually and all fabulously amazing,” says the Forum.
First prize is a one week family holiday for two adults and two children in Lake Garda in Italy from June 22 to 29. Flights and accommodation and transfers are all included.
Second prize is a one week holiday for two adults in Kusadasi, Turkey from August 24 to 31. Flights accommodation and transfers are again included.
Third prize is a two night break for two people in Killashee House Hotel near Naas in Co Kildare. The prize inclues B&B plus one evening meal.
Tickets are €10 each and are available in Phelans Catering Service, Telfords Portlaoise and Mountrath, The Gym, the Convent and a few other locations around Mountrath.

The draw takes place on June 2.
Community Forum member Eddie Phelan said the funds raised will go towards covering the cost of the many ongoing projects underway in the town.
Meanwhile, the Forum wants to showcase cultural diversity through taste and smell at a special diversity event as part of the Big Hello weekend of events.
“The Forum is looking for individuals or groups who want to tell us about their culture through food. We have up to €50 to spend on ingredients for each dish so get in touch with us if you want to cook a dish to share on Community Day, May 5.
“You can cook, bake, roast or make anything you want, just make lots of it. Whatever your nationality, Irish, Moldovan, Polish, Ukrainian, Lithuanian, Belgian, French, Italian, Scottish, Indian, Chinese, American, Australian and all the rest, get in touch and tell the Forum what delights you want to share with your community.
“Places are limited so get in touch early - you must let us know before April 26 if you are taking part.”
Another event coming up which is facilitated by the Forum is the Biker's Shed craft and grand opening starting at 12.30pm on Sunday, May 12.
The Bikers promise a day for all the family the includes enterntainment, music, food and information stands for the community.
