THE LATE TOM O’BRIEN
The death occurred on April 7 of Tom O’Brien, (Knocknabraher, Stradbally) peacefully at the Beacon Hospital, Dublin. Husband of Mary and father of Cora, Esther, Dolores, John, Tom and Karen; deeply regretted by his sons-in-law, daughter-in-law and ever loved granddad to Simon, Katie, Robert, Hazel, Mary Rose, Amy, Jack, Adam and Harry, his sisters and brothers, extended family and friends. His remains were reposing at his residence and removed on Monday to the Sacred Heart Church, Stradbally and following requiem mass his remains were interred in Oughvale Cemetery.
THE LATE BRIGID MCEVOY
The death occurred on April 14 of Brigid McEvoy, (Coolnabacca, Timahoe) peacefully at her home. Brigid, wife of the late Denis; deeply regretted by her loving sons Johnny and Tim, nephews, nieces, relatives, her wonderful carers, neighbours and friends. Her remains were reposing at her home and removed on Sunday evening to St Michael’s Church, Timahoe and following funeral mass on Monday morning her remains were interred in St Joseph’s Cemetery, Ballyadams.

ELECTRIC PICNIC 2012 OFFICERS
At the AGM of the Electic Picnic the following officers were elected for 2012: chairperson Jillian Kennedy, vice-chairperson Kevin Barry, secretary Carmel Dillon, vice secretary Carmel Delaney, treasurer Betty Redmond, vice treasurer Noel Ryan, PRO Martin Mahon. There were also a number of representatives for each area appointed.
NATIONAL DRAWING DAY
National Drawing Day will take place at The Arthouse and Library, Stradbally, on Saturday, May 19 from 11am - 1pm. All ages welcome to a fun and creative morning with participating artists. Bring a sketch pad and pencils/pens/charcoal etc (some supplies will be provided). Resident artist Lorraine Walsh will also be running a fun drawing workshop in her studio on National Drawing Day. Laois Community Forum is a platform for community and voluntary groups to link with one another across the county and alse be involved in the development of our county, economically, socially and culturally, through being represented at county level. Nominations must be submitted by this Thursday, April 19 at 50m. The election takes place on May 2 at 7.30pm in St Colman’s School, Stradbally.
OUR LADYS HOSPITAL FUNDRAISER
A rock music festival in aid of Our Lady’s Children’s Hospital, Crumlin in the Napper Tandy, Stradbally on Sunday May 6 commencing at 2pm. This is a field event with great fun, tug-of-war, football games etc.
