Last year we had an early Spring and no Summer so maybe this year we might have a late Spring and a good Summer, we live in hope. PROGRESSIVE 25 DRIVE

The Progressive 25 Drive will continue next Thursday night in the O’Brien Hall at 9pm.
At a recent meeting of the Ossory Agricultural Show Society votes of sympathy were passed with show treasurer Renee Newman on the death of her uncle, the late Sammy Young, with the Harrahill family on the death of the late Kathleen Harrahill, with Florrie Foley on the death of her two sisters and with the relatives of the late Mick Rafter.
4 MONTH DRAW
The 4 Month Draw in aid of Knockaroo Church Renovation Fund is taking place again this year. The draws will take place on the last Friday of each month, beginning in April. The subscription is €10 per month or €40 for the four months. There will be a special prize of €200 on the first night for fully paid up members and a promoter’s prize of €100 per month. The draws will take place on April 26, May 31, June 28 and July 26 in St Canice’s Parish Hall, Borris in Ossory at 7pm.
The Annual General Meeting of Borris in Ossory ICA Guild will take place on this Wednesday night April 3. The Federation President/Information Officer Betty Gorman will be in attendance at the AGM. The meeting will start at 8pm and all members are requested to attend.
Borris in Ossory ICA guild held its annual fundraising raffle on Wednesday March 27. Thanks was extended to all the members who donated prizes and sold the tickets. Thanks also to the local shops and business premises who displayed the hamper and sold tickets – Wilson’s Daybreak, Rosie O’Gradys, Kellys Bar, Noel Meade (Butcher) and Josie Keenan (Hairdresser).

Names and deposits of €100 for Borris in Ossory ICA guild’s annual trip should be given to Lily Sheeran before the end of March. The trip will take place from Sunday July 14 to Thursday July 18 and the venue this year will be South Wales, staying in a four star hotel in Cardiff and taking in many places of interest over the few days.
