TWO roads in Coolrain have been included on road strenghtening programmes by Laois County Council.
Main Street in the village is now included in the 2015 road strengthening programme while Glebe Road is now included on this year’s road strengthening programme, senior executive engineer Michael Malone told councillors recently.
Cllr Michael Lalor, who enquired on the progress of both roads, said that Main Street has been in bad repair since the bad frost a couple of years ago. He added that the Glebe Road is in a deplorable state.
However he thanked Mr Malone and his staff for carrying out so much work since the last Borris in Ossory electoral area meeting.
“I am delighted it has all been carried out,” he said.
