GAA club auction

The club are holding an auction on Sunday November 17 in the community hall, we are actively looking for donations of all kinds but particularly domestic firing such as sticks, coal, turf etc. We are also looking for fodder for animal stock. Your donations are welcome contact any committee member.


The playground committee are holding a Halloween kids disco in the GAA hall on Thursday October 31 from 6pm to 8pm. Admission €5 and loads of Halloween themed games and fun in store. There are also prizes for fancy dress. All monies raised will help pay small bills left over from the project which is getting great usage.


Met last Friday as usual and plan on going to a disco in Portlaoise on November 8. We have near 40 members this year with limited leaders so if you can spare 1.5 hours a week contact Roghan on 087 6813116.


Well done to the local national school girls team on reaching their respective county final played in O Moore Park last Thursday, well done to all involved.


A proposal has been put forward by a number of GAA players to establish a gym in the football field. A table quiz has been organised for Friday November 22 in Bergins at 9pm. A table of 4 is €40 and there will be a cash prize for the winners and also a raffle on the night. The funds raised will go towards the gym a collection is currently in progress at present for €50 from all interested people for the year from the date of opening. Please support where you can.


Cemetery Sundays in Stradbally parish as will be held on November 10 in Moyanna at 2pm, Timahoe 2pm and Oakvale 2.45pm.
