Camross Senior Citizens had there annual Community Dinner on Sunday March 9 in the Community Hall. Over 115 sat down to a beautiful 4 course meal & wine prepared by Mary Ann & Pat Coyne. Special guests were Rev Ian Poultan, Church of Ireland Rector for Mountrath, Lacca & Annatrim Churches and Fr Lalor, who was warmly welcomed back after his illness. Martin Delaney supplied the music, which everyone enjoyed. There was also a raffle, which were sponsored by local businesses as well as the organising committee. Some of those in attendance also brought prizes, which was greatly appreciated. The cake was donated by Mary Ann Coyne and cut by Mary Higgins and Kieran Moore. Michael Lalor was MC. The committee would like to thank the following sponsors and anyone who helped make such an enjoyable day for our Senior Citizens.

Camross IFA and Camross Macra will be holding a table quiz on Friday March 28 at 9pm in Bergins Pub, Camross.
Tables of 4 will be €20 and there will be a raffle on the night. All proceeds of the night will be going to The Robbie Phelan Fund. All support appreciated.

Months Mind Mass
The Months Mind Mass for the late Molly Bates, Coolrain will be celebrated in St Fergals Church Camross on Saturday March 22 at 8pm.
The Months Mind Mass for the late Phil Breen, Ballaghmore will be celebrated in St Moluas Church Ballaghmore on Saturday March 22 at 7.30pm.
The community extend deepest sympathy to John O’Sullivan, Coolrain on the death of his brother William of Harpur’s Lane, Portlaoise, which took place last weekend. William reposed at the Chapel of Rest Portlaoise and was laid to rest in St Peter and Pauls Cemetery Portlaoise following Requiem Mass in the adjoining church on Tuesday March 10.
His family and brothers John, Stephen, Michael, Thomas, Noel and Anthony and his sister Theresa, sisters-in-law, brother-in-law, nephews, nieces and extended family mourn Mr O’Sullivan. Sympathy is also extended to the Lanham family Mountrath on the tragic death of their son-in-law in a car crash in Ballyfin last Thursday morning.
