Waterford based artist Shona Shirley MacDonald will exhibit her art works entitled ‘Juniper’ in the library gallery during May. All are welcome along to view.

The library celebrates its fifth birthday on Friday May 22.  Join us from 2.30pm to 5pm. Art workshop, a photographic display of all events over the last five years and of course birthday cake and light refreshments. All are welcome.


Mountmellick Utd FC AGM will take place on Saturday June 6 at 6pm in the clubhouse in Conor Davis Park. All committee members, coaches and players are required to attend. The general public also welcome.

Boccia games continue on Mondays in the Macra Hall at 7.30pm to 8.30pm and on Friday nights 7.30pm to 8.30pm. The group hope to send a team to DCU on June 6 to partake in the Go For Life Games.

On Tuesdays is aqua aerobics in Portlaoise Leisure Centre at noon (free bus from MDA at 11.15am). Thursdays: music and song in St Vincent’s Hospital. Other games - skittles, flisk, lobbers on Friday nights in the Macra Hall from 7.30pm to 8.30pm and a good attendance is urged, to prepare for the annual sports day in DCU in June.
