A large number of ladies from the parish and surrounding areas are taking part in the Flora Mini-Marathon on June bank holiday Monday raising much needed funds for Motor Neuron Disease Research. If you are asked to donate a few euro do please be very generous as this charity is a very desirable cause. In the past few years several people in the parish have been diagnosed with this illness and it would be a great help for the research to have extra funds to get a cure/treatment for this illness.
LATE PATTY FITZPATRICK
The death took place, after a short illness borne with great faith of Patty Fitzpatrick, Tubberboe, Durrow on May 19 at her residence. A member of a hugely respected farming family in the parish the late Patty was a wonderful woman, much loved by her family and friends. She will be sadly missed for her friendliness, her chat and most of all her faith.
She was predeceased by her husband Michael and is survived by her sons John, Martin, Eamonn, Michael and Liam and her daughter Catriona, brothers, sisters, brother in law, daughters-in-law, grandchildren, nieces and nephews, relatives and a large circle of neighbours and friends. The huge attendance at the wake, removal and burial paid their last respects to a lovely lady and to offer to the Fitzpatrick and Dillon family their hearth felt sympathy.
Her remains were removed to the church of the Most Holy Trinity, Durrow on Monday night and on Tuesday morning following Requiem Mass her remains were laid to rest in the adjoining cemetery . May she rest in peace.
