Staff from the Cuisle Centre had a busy few days at the ploughing last week, raising awareness of prostate and testicular cancer in men and breast cancer in women.
They were encouraging men to get tested and telling them about the Cuisle Centre’s prostate cancer psychosocial education programme, which begins at the Centre this Thursday October 3, at 7pm.
The programme will provide an opportunity for prostate cancer survivors to share their experiences and concerns, enhance their understanding of the prostate cancer experience and its consequences, and develop their skills in coping with and surviving prostate cancer.
This course is facilitator led using an adult education approach, building on the knowledge, skills and experience of the participants. It will negotiate a group contract on programme topics, group discussion and inputs. It aims to enhance the physical and psychosocial well-being and quality of life for prostate cancer survivors.
