Condolences to the family of the late Patrick (Paddy) Campion of Levalley, Rathdowney who died on Wednesday, April 16 peacefully at home following a brief illness. Deeply regretted by his loving wife Tess and his family, Margaret, Maureen, David, Paul and Ray, his brother Fr Joe and his sister Frances (Conroy), extended family neighbours, relatives and friends. Reposed at his residence. Removal to the Church of The Most Holy Trinity, Rathdowney for Funeral Mass. Burial in Bealady Cemetery. Donations can be made to the friends of Tullamore Hospital.

Late Margaret O’Brien

Condolences to the family of the late Margaret (Maisie) O’Brien (née Maloney) of Quigley Park, Rathdowney, formerly Roscrea who died on April 21 peacefully at home, surrounded by her loving family and friends following an illness bravely endured. Beloved wife and best friend of Eddie and beloved mother to Adrien, Damien and Edel. Sadly missed by sisters and brothers extended family, friends and neighbours. Reposed at her residence. Removal to the Church of the Holy Trinity, Rathdowney. for Funeral Mass. Burial in Bealady Cemetery. Donations can be made to Laois Hospice.


On Sunday May 4, the 100k and 50k tours will take place. Starting at the local GAA club house at 10am and 11am. Entry fee €25 both events, €20 with cycling Ireland licence.


A great Bingo is held every Tuesday Night at 8.30 in the Rathdowney Community Centre. Your support would be greatly appreciated.

Ossory Agricultural Show Society 1898 -2014 will be held on Sunday, July 27 at the Showgrounds on the Mountrath Road, Rathdowney. Following classes: Cattle, Sheep, Horses, Poultry, Craft, Eggs, Flowers, Baking, Jams, Sewing, Knitting, Vegetables, Photography, Flower arrangements. Junior classes, most suitable dressed lady and gentleman on show day. Little Miss Ossory, most suitable dressed boy on show day. Fun dog show, pony games, trade stands, cooking demonstration, music and lost more.
