This group will hold their Annual Sale of Work in St, Fintan’s Community Hall on Sunday May 4 at 12noon -4pm. The usual side stalls will be there and the usual big draw will take place. It is hoped that you will give your usual support.


On Sunday May 4 our 100k and 50K Tours will take place. Starting at the local GAA club house at 10am and11am. Entry fee €25 both events, €20 with cycling Ireland licence.


The next meeting of the book-club will take place on Thursday May 1, 6:15pm- 7:15pm. We will be discussing “White Tiger” by Aravind Adiga copies are available from the library and new members are always welcome.

A Good Yarn Knitting Club meets in the library every Friday morning 10:30 - 12:30 am. Why not join us for a cuppa, good company gauranteed.

Daffodil Day

Well done to all our sellers in the Parish who did trojan work on Daffodil Day. Great credit goes to all these people who give of their time, certainly their work is much appreciated. hanks to everyone who gave us fresh daffodils. €5,460 Euro is lodged to the Irish Cancer Society. Again a big thanks to everyone who helped, bought daffodils, badges and key-rings and gave generous donations. Thanks to all for your loyal support as it is crucial to the work of The Irish Cancer Society.

Late Mary Doheny

Condolences to the family of the late Mary Doheny (née Conroy also known as Mary Hanly) of Redcastle, Mountrath who died on April 20. Formerly of Skerry Rosenallis and Attanagh. Deeply regretted by her son Denis and daughter Ursula, brothers Patrick and Donal, extended family, relatives and friends. Reposed in her home. Removal to St Fintan’s Church Mountrath for funeral Mass. Burial after in Ballyouskill cemetery.
