A Ukrainian Response Team team has swung into action in the Graiguecullen Killeshin Parish on the Laois Carlow border to help people fleeing Putin's brutal invasion of their country.
As families are already beginning to arrive from Ukraine, the parish is forming a response plan to welcome them into the community.
"We have already had people volunteering accommodation and we too hope to add to that list. We are looking for a group of people to help in this endeavour," says the parish.
If you feel you would be interested, please give your name to the parish office at 9141833. The response team will do the rest.
Graiguecullen is next door to Carlow town.
