Rotary Club of Carlow presents an Autumn Fashion Show in aid of Éist, Talk it Over, Delta Centre, Carlow / Kilkenny Homecare and Carlow Day Care on Wednesday 24 September in the Seven Oaks Hotel starting at 8pm. Tickets €15 and there is a door prize on offer. The interval entertainment is “Abba Moments” and will be performed by the magnificent Delta Players. Please support.


St Clare’s Children’s Choir, practice resumes on Monday 15 September from 4.30pm to 5.30pm in the Parish Centre. The choir is open to all primary school children and first year secondary school students. New members more than welcome.

Parish Youth Choir resumes next Saturday, 20 September from 12.45 to 2pm in the Parish Centre. The choir is open to all secondary school students and young adults. Musicians also very welcome.


RTE Radio will broadcast Mass live from St Clare’s Church on Sunday 5 October at 11am. The 11.30 Mass that Sunday will take place at 11am.


Graiguecullen/ Killeshin Parish Rainbows Group offers a 14 week Peer Support Programme for children age six plus who have experienced loss through the death of a close relative, separation of their parents or other painful change in their family. The programme will commence early in October and is free to participants. Applications must be returned to the Parish Centre by Wednesday September 24. Contact Anne at 0876636499.


Recent lotto result were 07, 12, 17 and 30 and there was no winner. The €25 lucky dip winners were Trevor Brennan, Fran Salter, Mary Hickey and E Hickey. The seller’s prize went to Denise McDonald. The Jackpot now stands at €7,200.

It’s the start of the new season and training for ‘A’ and ‘B’ teams has commenced on Monday nights at 7.30pm and new players are very welcome. Whist night that runs on Wednesdays will take a summer break until early September and they would like to take this opportunity to thank all those who supported the whist.


Killeshin FC Whist Night has recommenced on Wednesday night at 8.30pm in the Old Den beside Killeshin Hall. Entry is only €5 per person and all are welcome. Beginners at 8pm on Wednesday 10 September also. Refreshments served


The Graiguecullen women’s group will resume on Wednesday 17 September in the Lazy River Cafe at 7.30pm. New members always welcome COOKERY DEMO

Killeshin Schoolhouse Graiguecullen renovation project will host a Kevin Dundon Cookery Demo with an Artisan Food and Craft Market in the Lord Bagenal Hotel on Thursday 23 October commencing at 5pm with a cookery demo at 7.45pm. The opening of the year Mass for Killeshin NS will take place on this Friday 19 Sept. at 11.30am in Holy Cross and for St Fiacc’s NS on Thursday 25 Sept at 11.30am in St Clare’s. All families and members of the parish community are welcome to join in praying for God’s Blessings on our schools for the year ahead.


Graigue Ladies and Juvenile Girls 4k Fun Run is on Sunday September 28 at 12 noon. Pre-register in the clubhouse from 10.30 am and €5 is the entry fee. The run is open to everyone walkers, joggers and runners. Prizes for the first male and female.


Items are now been accepted for the Fiacc’s Folk, our Parish Annual. Please submit any articles, stories or photographs that you would like to be considered for inclusion in this year’s Annual. They can be emailed to or left at Parish Office for the attention of the Editorial Committee, Fiacc’s Folk. All items must be handed in no later than Friday 26 September.


First Communion and First Penance meetings for parents take place this Thursday 18 September at 7pm for Killeshin NS and 8pm for St Fiacc’s NS.


Parish Finance Committee AGM will be held on Wednesday )ctober 8 at 8pm in the Parish Centre. Any parishioner with queries regarding parish finances is invited to attend this meeting. The new parish finance committee will be elected at this meeting.


Thursday Morning Club has resumed after the 10am Mass in St Clare’s. People are invited to come to the Parish Centre for tea or coffee and some friendly chat.


The course for young readers began on Monday last from 6.30pm to 7.30pm in the Parish Centre and will run for another three Monday nights. Any secondary school student who would like to become a reader in our churches are welcome to attend.


Bingo every Tuesday night at 8.30pm in St Fiacc’s Hall. Great money to be won on the night. Jackpot €3,040 in 50 numbers. Check on double number and win €1440.


Parish Finance Committee AGM will be held on Wednesday 08 October at 8pm in the Parish Centre. Any parishioner with queries regarding parish finances is invited to attend this meeting. The new parish finance committee will be elected at this meeting.

The St Clare’s Food Kitchen still giving out 120 food parcels each week. They would like to thank everyone for their continuous support through food and donations. All food donations can still be left in the food barrels at the church doors or in the parish centre.

New CD, L U M I N A; the Orchestral Music of Liam Lawton, recorded with The Prague Philharmonic Orchestra is on sale at Parish Centre and cost €15. Proceeds to St Clare’s Hospitality Food Kitchen.


Talk it Over, Suicide, Bereavement and Loss Service are having an open information evening in the Seven Oaks Hotel on this Thursday, 11 September at 8pm.
