Durrow has been judged in the Laois County Council federation Inter County Litter Challenge over the past three months. In June our results were 96% July 100% and August 98%. Those were the highest marks awarded in the Large Towns category which included Portarlington, Borris-in-Ossory Abbeyleix Mountrath Stradbally and Durrow. The judges found the town and approach roads very clean and litter free except for some cigarette butts in places. Prizes will be presented at an Environmental Awards night in County Hall in early September. Great credit must go to all who worked so hard over the Summer months planting cleaning etc. and those who kept outside their homes and business premises clean and litter free and to the FAS team for their help.
