The last meeting before the summer break will be Wednesday 24th June and will be a guided tour round the Slieve Bloom followed by a meal in Clonaslee. The minibus will leave the square at 12.00 midday. Additional trips during the summer break will be notified nearer the time.

Ballinakill GAA club afamily fun day on Sunday, June 28 from 12 noon until 5pm. Admission €5 per adult, €3 per child, the maximum any family will have to pay is €20. Once inside the grounds all activities will be free, including bouncing castle, inflatable obstacle course, rodeo bull, cinema club, face painting and many more family orientated activities. MC on the day with be John & Damien Walsh (formerly of Na Fianna fame). Dunk tank to dunk some of our senior hurlers and maybe the odd parent or two Irish TV will there on the day to record the activities and fun and the committee will let everyone know when it’s going to be televised. Additionally everyone on entrance will be entered into and receive a ticket for a free draw to win an official Niall Horan poster that the star has personally signed for Ballinakill GAA club. Why not clear your diary on Sunday, June 28 and come along and enjoy a great day.

Mid Summer cycle
South Laois Tourism & Ossory Cycling Club stage the 90k Mid Summer Cycle Challenge on Sunday 21st June. Starting from the Square Durrow @ 10am with registration from 9.30am the tour continues through Cullahill, Rathdowney, Clough, Ballacolla, Ballinakill, Ballyouskill (where refreshments will be had in the Wheel Inn) Ballyragget, Lisdowney, Gathabawn and concludes back in Durrow. Fee 20euro, BBQ at finish in Decs Bar Durrow. A 20k Family cycle will also be held with a start time of 11am. This spin will leave the square Durrow and continue through Cullahill, the Five Cross roads to Supermac’s Junction 3 Ballacolla where refreshments will be provided before returning to Durrow via Harveys Cross and the Woodenbridge .This event which is part of National Bike WeeK is free of charge so come along and enjoy the day.
