The death occurred on October 3 last of Sr Justin Kavanagh late of Ballyquaid, Ballybrophy and Sean Ross Abbey, Roscrea. She died peacefully in the loving care of her Community in the Sacred Heart Convent Cork.

Sr Justin was in her 97th year and had been very active and in good health up to a few weeks before her death. She had been on holidays to Ballyquaid in July of this year. She joined the sisters of the Sacred Heart of Jesus and Mary over 67 years ago and spent over 41 years in St Anne’s Roscrea. She moved to Cork in July 2011.

She was a very religious and good-natured person and treated everyone with dignity and respect. She touched the lives of many people. She attended most of the Masses in Ballyquaid Mass Pit and donated from St Anne’s, the statue of our Lady for the Grotto. Her brothers Fr Charlie Kavanagh, Tom Kavanagh and her sister Bridie Bowe, predeceased her. Her funeral mass took place in the Sacred Heart Convent Cork followed by interment in the convent graveyard of St Anne’s, Roscrea.

Sympathy is extended to her nephews Charlie Bowe and Seamus Kavanagh, extended family, the Sacred Heart Sisters in St Anne’s and Cork, neighbours and friends. May she Rest in Peace.
