STRADBALLY FLOWER AND GARDEN CLUB
Meeting on Wednesday, November 7 in St Josephs Hall at 8pm. Shoe boxes for the Christmas shoe box appeal fund will be taken in before meeting or contact Dorrie Moran Main Street or Vera Donohue, Main Street or any member of the club. This is a work night and members are asked to bring a container, some oasis, foliage, and flowers of their choice to make a table centre. Names will be taken for the Christmas dinner to be held in Castle Durrow in December.
A reminder of the cemetery masses on Sunday, November 4 in Moyanna at 2pm, Oakvale 3.45pm and Timahoe at 2pm.
LATE JOE BAMBRICK

Door to door fundraisers will be in our parish for a couple of days during October/November. The fundraisers are clearly identifiable as they will be wearing a blue trocaire jacket and a navy polo trocaire shirt. Each fundraiser will a photo ID. A table quiz willl be held on Saturday, November 10 in St Patrick’s Hall, Stradbally commencing at 8.30pm. €10 per contentant, children and students €5. Individual contestants welcome on the night. Supper and raffle and a good night entertainment assured.
YOUTH CENTRE HALLOWEEN DISCO
Stradbally Youth Centre are also holding a Halloween disco on Halloween night, Wednesday, October 31 for anyone from 6th class to 18 yrs in Napper Tandys. It starts at 9pm and finishes at 12. A great night assured and prizes too for the best costumes.
RATHENISKA COMHALTAS AMERICAN TEA PARTY
Ratheniska cce will be holding a fund raising American Tea Party on Friday, November 2 in Vicarstown Community Hall. All proceeds will be for Ratheniska Marching band and Laois Fleadh Ceoil to be held in Ratheniska and Stradbally in June 2013. Tickets €10 available from committee members. Confirmation will be held in the Church of the Sacred Heart, Stradbally on Saturday, March 9, 2013 and in St Michael’s Church, Timahoe on Saturday, March 2. Meeting on this Tuesday night in the parochial house at 8pm.

First Holy Commnion will be held in the Church of the Sacred Heart, Stradbally on Saturday, May 18, 2013 and in St Michael’s Church, Timahoe on Saturday, May 25, 2013.
GAA ANNUAL GOLF SCRAMBLE
The Stradbally GAA annual golf scramble will take place at Athy Golf Club on Friday, November 9. All welcome. Contact Billy Delaney at 086 8824199 or Johnny Robbins at 087 9001858.
As always we would encourage parents to become actively involved or anybody intrested in sports or any of the activities provided. The winter programme will soon start so calling on children with an intrest in written projects, chess and draughts group, solo singing, dancing (modern and disco), recitation, group and solo
music choir, drama and hand writing (u10). Anybody withan interest of coaching any of the above or perhaps tag rugby or rounders are always welcome. STRADBALLY CONCERN GROUP

SCOR NA NOG
The Laois Scor na nOg will be held on Saturday, November 3 in Timahoe Community Hall commencing at 5pm. This competition is open to all GAA members of 17 years or younger who can dance, sing, sell a yarn, play an instrument, be part of a group or even want to test their general knowledge against neighbouring clubs. LITERARY AND MUSIC EVENING
As part of the Leaves Literary Festival 2012 celebrating the literary arts in Laois from 9/10 November, a literary and music evening will be held in the Arthouse, Stradbally on Saturday, November 10 commencing at 8pm featuring Christine Dwyer Hickey (novelist and short story writer), Nuala Ni Chonchuir (short story writer, novelist and poet) and Niamh Boyce (awarded the Hennessy XO New Irish Writer of the Year 2012). The evening will be chaired by Seamus Hosey, former senior producer of RTE arts department. An evening not to be missed.
