Condolences to the family of the late Paul Russell of Rathdowney and formerly Blanchardstown who died on July 31. Beloved husband of Kathleen and loving father of Marie, Geraldine, Michael and Susan, he is also sadly missed by his brothers, sisters, relatives and friends. Reposed at his residence with removal to the Church of the Most Holy Trinity, Rathdowney for funeral mass followed by cremation at Newlands Cross Crematorium, arriving at 12.30pm. Donations in lieu of flowers to the Irish Cancer Society.


There was no winner in this week’s jackpot which was €8,200. The numbers drawn were 2, 6, 17, 23. The 10 winners of €15 were Peter Bergin, Shane Dollard, Richard Cahill, Paddy Hickey, Lisa Corrigan, Ronan Byrne, S. Quigley, Jack Maher, Kay Butler, Teagan O Reilly. Next week’s jackpot will be €8,350. Tickets can be purchased from all shops or any local promoter.


The annual GAA race night has be re-fixed for 24th August in Thurles greyhound track. Buster tickets are €10 each which includes admission, draw and race card on the night. Children go free. There will be a free raffle after each race for all children that attend on the night. Prizes include sliotars and hurls signed by your favourite Rathdowney/Errill player. Fitzpatrick bus hire will also be available on the night. First race starts at 7.45pm so come early to study form. Anyone who has not purchased a ticket yet can do so from any committee member. Any ticket which has been purchased can be used on the night. Sorry for any inconvenience caused.

A great Bingo is held every Tuesday Night at 8.30 in the Rathdowney Community Centre.
