The annual Cemetery Mass will be held in the Church of the Assumption, The Heath on Thursday, August 15. Procession is at 7 p.m followed by mass at 7.30 pm.

Portlaoise Comhaltas are presenting a Summer Seisiún at the Portlaoise Heritage Hotel, at 8.30pm each Thursday to August 8. Members of Comhaltas branches throughout the county will also be in attendance - admission free.


There was no winner of the jackpot in the Portlaoise Parish Lotto when the numbers were drawn on August 2. Numbers: 5,15 17,24. The 14 match 3 winners won €72 each. This week’s jackpot is €20,000.


The Portlaoise Rotary Club has launched a 700km 7 day charity cycle from La Rochelle on France’s Atlantic coast to Portlaoise in aid of the Laois Sport’s Partnership’s Sport’s Inclusion Disability Programme. The cycle takes place in September. Contact 057 8671248.
