ST PATRICK’S DAY PARADE
This year The St. Patrick’s Day Parade will take place on Sunday March 16 at 12.30pm. The assembly point for participants is the GAA field. We hope to see all of you out on the day to enjoy and support the occasion. Also there will be a prize given to the best dressed window display of the business premises in the town. LAOIS HEART FOUNDATION
The Mountrath branch of the Laois Heart Foundation will hold their monthly meeting in the Cosy Cafe, The Square Mountrath on Tuesday March 18 at 8 p.m.
People can register on the Mountrath Community Alert text alert service until Tuesday, March 4. Each phone €10.
Adult Book Club: Next meeting will take place on Thursday March 6. We will be discussing “Before I Die” by Jenny Dowhnam. Copies are available at the library and new members are always welcome.

The library is pleased to announce that from February 7, third level students can now join the Library for the reduced rate of only €3.
We would like to remind the community that library membership is free to all children and OAPs, €3 for social welfare recipients and €15 for adults. The library stocks a large selection of fiction and nonfiction titles, DVDs, CDs, audiobooks and language resources. Internet access, photocopying and printing facilities are also available. Free Wi-Fi is also available for library members.
A bucket collection will be held on March 16 during the St. Patrick’s Day parade for the maintenance of the playground/park. This is the only collection taken up each year for the continued maintenance of the playground/park. We would greatly appreciate your support on the day for this great amenity in our town.

Dog fouling is a litter problem in the town. It is a nightmare for walkers and a health hazard for young children. Local awareness to identify the dog owners responsible is required.
