Culture night

Stephen Conroy memorial workshop
Our annual workshop takes place on Saturday 8th November. Tuition in all instruments will be to a very high standard. Registration forms will be available in the next few weeks.
active retirement
Bingo session is on Sunday 28th November at 2 pm in the community hall. All retirees welcome. Camross Active Retiree’s monthly meeting is on Wednesday 1st October at 3 pm. All members welcome to attend. The Chiropodist will be in attendance on Thursday 2nd October at 2 pm in the community hall.
Storytelling
The Slieve Bloom Storytelling festival, October 8 to 11, features storytellers Pat Speight (Cork) and Jim Maher (Kilkenny), accompanied by local storytellers, singers and musicians. Wednesday October 8 : The Slieve Bloom Bar, Kinnitty. Launch night with open session. Admission free. Thursday: Roundwood House, Mountrath. 7pm Meal and Show €35, call 057-8732120. Parish social
The October Parish social and dance will take place in the Parish centre on Saturday night next October 4th with music provided by Philip English. Admission including supper is €7.
Camogie County final
Camogie champions Camross will defend their County championship title when they meet O’Moores on Sunday next throwing in at Raheen at 2.30pm. Camross captained by Brighie Cuddy will be hoping to claim their third championship in as many years and have prepared well and will be hoping for support on the day. O’Moores will be hoping to claim their first championship at this level but have been very successful at under age level.
Juvenile GAA
Congratulations to Camross U-14 hurlers on their victory over Rathdowney-Errill in the Shield final on Saturday week and hard luck to the under sixteen footballers who went out of the championship to O’Dempseys on Tuesday last. The senior and junior hurlers were involved in important games at the weekend full details in sports pages.
