ABBEYLEIX GAA CLUB
An effort is being made to write a comprehensive history of Abbeyleix GAA Club. The group are looking for photographs, stories, paper cuttings, songs, poems or anything connected with the club. All memorabilia will be returned and any and all co-operation would be gratefully appreciated. This group would be grateful if you would make contact with Billy Phelan @ 086 3323205.
The group held their fundraiser in Durrow last Saturday night. The club organised a scavenger hunt through Durrow entitled “Durrow Debauchery”. The idea was that the teams had to answer clues and questions as they toured through Durrow. A big thank you to all those who supported us on the night and also to all the businesses throughout Durrow who allowed us to use their premises. It was a great success and we hope to do another one again in the future. Best of luck to Laura Brennan, Catherine Walshe, Bríd Walsh and Cathy Downey who are representing us in the next round of the set dancing competition in Cashel on the 4th of May. Laura Brennan is also taking part in the solo instrumental competition. Best of luck girls! The farm skills competition is coming up and anyone who is interested in taking part in it or in any other competition please contact Joe on (085) 7665838.
