STARS IN YOUR EYES
This year marks the final of the annual Stars in Your Eyes show. We are hoping to go out with a bang. Practice continues each Thursday at 8.30pm in the library on Chapel Street, it’s not too late to participate for the show which will take place this year on November 23.
MEALS ON WHEELS
We are appealing for volunteers to help with meals deliveries. It takes less than an hour to deliver meals any day between 12 noon and 1pm. Some of our volunteers have had to retire thus leaving us short handed.
This is a great service for the elderly of the area and even one day per week or less would be of great help. Please give your name and phone number to Marie Clooney if you think you can help in any way.
JACK’S GOLF SOCIETY
The next outing of Jack’s Golf Society is for the Christmas hampers on Saturday November 23 in Abbeyleix Golf Club from 10am to 11am. Timesheet in Dec’s Bar. Telephone 057 8736280. All are welcome

The parish of Durrow was shocked ans deeply saddened to hear of the death of Mick Foley, Mary Street, Durrow following a short illness in St James Hospital Dublin.
A member of a much loved and respected family in the parish the people of Durrow will truly miss him. A very quiet man Mick kept to himself and his loving wife Molly whom he was married for over 61 years. Two years after his marriage in 1952 Mick and Molly emigrated to England and set up home in London. During the recession of the early eighties they both lost their jobs and returned to Durrow in 1981. They both moved in beside Molly’s mother Mrs Guilfoyle, whom they looked after with the rest of the family until her death at the age of 104 years. The Late Mick is survived by his loving wife Molly, sister in law Bernie, nieces and nephews, relatives, great neighbours and friends. The remains were removed from Phelan’s Funeral Home to the church of the Most Holy Trinity, Durrow for requim mass celeberated by Canon O’Doherty assisted by Fr John Lalor. Burial took place in adjoining cemetry. Sincerest sympathy is extended to Molly on her great Loss. May he rest in peace.
