Laois walks

Laois walks

The opening walk of the Laois Walks Festival will be along Fossey Mountain, Timahoe on Tuesday, July 1. This demanding walk goes up Fossey Mountain and back into the village. Meet at the village green, Timahoe 7.30pm.

Medley Day is on June 29, all the usual Medley Day favourites including juvenile races, bouncy castle, bottle stall, penny on square, pallet of treasure, needle in a hay stack, milk the cow, detonator, mouse racing, duck racing, and guess how long a car will run without oil and water. We will also have the annual donkey derby and stricter guidelines have been proposed this year regarding the entrants. The highlight of the day will be the visit of the Laois Rose Teresa Brennan to judge the fancy dress competition for the kids.

The Timahoe Heritage Centre will officially open in the Willie Headen Library on the morning of June 29 at 11.30am, in conjunction with a fundraising coffee morning. The centre will be a multi purpose community building and welcoming centre for visitors. Everyone is welcome to attend.

Looking forward to our trip to the UK this weekend and to Alton Towers in particular.
