Coatbridge Davitts

Last weekend St Conleths and O’Dempsey’s played hosts to a group of u12 and u14 boys and girls from Coatbridge Davitts. Approx 40 children and mentors descended on Killenard for a weekend of Gaelic football. They arrived on Friday evening and were greeted by their host families and members of both clubs. On Saturday they took part in a tournament along with girls teams from Timahoe and Sarsfield and boys teams from Gracefield and Ballykelly. Matches were played all day with both Scottish boys and girls getting through to the finals. Saturday night there was a presentation of medals and plaques in the clubhouse followed by a disco. A special word of thanks to Timahoe, Sarsfield, Gracefield and Ballykelly for taking part in the tournament and to the families who opened their homes to provide accommodation for these guests.

On Sunday morning the teams walked to 10.30 am Mass in Killenard and afterwards took part in a training session with members of the senior teams. They departed for return journey to Glasgow at 1.30.
