OSSORY CYCLING CLUB
Rathdowney was a hive of activity on Sunday, April 22 when up to 200 cyclists took part in the first cycle club tour organized by the Ossory Cycle Club. Cyclists came from all over the country to participate in the tour. Riders were welcomed in the GAA centre where tea, coffee and refreshments were available. A percentage of the money raised will go to local charities. On arriving back in Rathdowney soup and refreshments were available for the tired and hungry riders. Certificates and medals were presented to all cyclists. A great day was had by all with all cyclists commenting on a well organized and enjoyable event. Thanks to marshals, motor bikers, registration, cooks, helpers at food stops, drivers, emergencies services, masseurs and all who helped to make the event successful. The club would like to extend their thanks to the Rathdowney GAA for the use of their facilities and to all our sponsors without whom our event could not take place. If you would like to come for a spin join us every Sunday morning from the Square at 10am all welcome.
