Tidy Towns Competition
Attanagh attained 241 marks, a gain of eight marks, in this year’s competition. Considering the bad summer and the amount of work undertaken, this is a poor reflection of the efforts of all involved. Adjudication on June 7 (a dull, wet day) was once again altogether too early taking into account the lateness of the season and the difficulties in getting planting completed etc. However, it was the adjudicator’s first visit to Attanagh and remarked that the village has great potential in the Tidy Town’s competition, with its lovely river side setting and attractive buildings and other features.
The Gohery School of Dancing has resumed its classes in Ballyouskill Hall on Monday evenings at 4.30pm.
