A coffee evening will take place in Knockaroo Community Centre on Thursday evening, September 20 from 7pm to 9pm in aid of Laois Hospice.


Knockaroo ICA Guild held its first meeting on Thurday, September 13 in the community centre. All correspondence was dealt with. Sympathy was extended to all families who suffered breavements since the last meeting. Raffle winners were Pauline Comerford and Josie Dunphy. The next meeting will take place on October 11 at 8pm in the community centre.


A fundraising threshing will take place on Dermot Leahy’s farm on Sunday, October 7. All proceeds will go to Knockaroo Church Building Fund and Laois Hospice. As part of the threshing they are hoping to hold an exhibition of interesting items from years gone by. If you have any old fashioned kettles, irons, pieces of agricultural equipment etc please bring it along to the exhibition. The next meeting will take place on Tuesday, September 25 at 8pm in Knockaroo Community Centre.


A shine taking control personal development/mental health free workshop will take place on Thurday, September 20 in St Canices Hall, Borris in Ossory from 10am to 4.30pm. Lunch will be provided. Enquiries please contact 086 8525281.
