Mountmellick United FC is holding a race night in Moloney’s Gaelic Bar on Friday April 11 at 9.30pm. Featuring the best of English, American and South African races with musical interludes and fun. Mission Alive Committee thanks all in Mountmellick and Clonaghadoo for their generous support of the church gate collection. €1343 raised which is being sent to Sr Paula who runs the Orphan Project in Lusaka in Zambia. The project assists children orphaned due to HIV/AIDS. The money is used to buy school books, provide uniforms etc. for the children who are being cared for by older siblings or grandparents.

LATE PATRICK CONROY
Condolences to the family of Patrick Conroy, 2 Twoomey Park whose death occurred on Tuesday March 25. Patrick was predeceased by his wife Mary and his parents Michael and Mary of Derrycloney. Reposed at St Vincent’s Hospital Chapel of Rest until removal to St Joseph’s Church on Wednesday evening. Requiem mass celebrated at 11.30am on Thursday with burial afterwards to St Joseph’s cemetery. Rest in peace.
