Killeshin Pipe Band will have their 50th anniversary honoured at a special reception in the county council offices in Portlaoise on Wednesday, November 5 at 7.30pm.
FIACC’S HOUSE DRAW
Fiacc’s House Annual Draw will take place on Monday 15 December. Cards available from Fiacc’s House or ring Margo on 086 3981213. This is their main fundraiser for the year and new promoters are always very welcome.
GREEN COMMUNITY AWARDS
This year Laois Community and Voluntary Awards will include an expanded Green Communities section.
In the coming weeks please compile a report of why your community project should be considered for a green award. Presentation is important so the more pictures and video footage the better.
This is being administered by LEAF with funding received through the Local Agenda 21 grant scheme from Laois County Council and Department of Environment, Heritage and Local Government.

Killeshin FC Whist Night every Wednesday night at 8.30pm in the Old Den beside Killeshin Hall. Entry is only €5 per person and all are welcome. Refreshments served. Beginners from 7.30pm to 8pm.
Killeshin FC recent lotto results. Numbers drawn were 01, 08, 10 and 24, there was no winner. €25 lucky dip winners were Carol Brennan, Avril Fitzpatrick, Christina Hawe and Paddy and Ellie The seller’s prize went to Tom Hickey. The Jackpot now stands at €7,900.
Oisín Park are holding their annual Halloween Celebrations on this Friday 31 October. Gates open at 5.30pm. Last year 700 attended and enjoyed fun. All enquiries to 0868340387. Volunteers to help on night very welcome.
FEAST OF ALL SAINTS
Next Saturday, 01 November is a Holy Day of Obligation. Mass in St Clare’s at 9am and 11.30am and Mass in Holy Cross at 10.15am. Please note there will be no Vigil Mass on Friday evening and the 6.30pm Mass on Saturday evening will be the usual Vigil Mass for the Sunday.
Next meeting takes place this Wednesday, October 29 from 7pm to 8.30pm in the Parish Centre. All parents who are presenting their child for baptism during the next few months are requested to attend this meeting.

NOVEMBER DEAD LIST
The names of the faithful departed who parishioners would like remembered and prayed for during November can be handed into the parish office or placed in the November Sacred Space. A sheet and envelope are provided in the box of church envelopes and all loved ones who have died will be remembered at all our Masses during November.

St. Fiacc’s House Library open for lending Monday to Friday from 10am to 12 noon from Monday last. This is a free service and all people from the Parish are welcome to come and borrow a book and donate your used books if you wish.
The Graiguecullen women’s group has resumed on Wednesdays in the Lazy River Cafe at 7.30pm. New members always welcome
St Clare’s Children’s Choir, on Mondays from 4.30pm to 5.30pm in the Parish Centre. The choir is open to all primary school children and first year secondary school students. New members more than welcome.
Parish Youth Choir has resumed on Saturdays from 12.45 to 2pm in the Parish Centre. The choir is open to all secondary school students and young adults. Musicians also very welcome.
