Ballygeehan area will hold a public meeting to discuss the setting up of a Community Alert Group for their area on Wednesday night March 18 8.30pm in the Hawthorn Community Building. All interested please attend.

The A G M of Clough I C A was held on Thursday March 12th in Clough Hall. There was a good attendance. Betty Gorman, Federation President was welcomed to the meeting. A vote of sympathy was passed with Kitty Hogan and the Hogan Families on their recent sad bereavement.
Secretary Maureen Dobbyn read last year’s A G M report also her secretary’s report. Kathleen Walsh gave Treasurers report for past year Noreen Byrne gave President report. Voting took place for National President and Secretary. The dinner dance which takes place on April 10th in Manor Hotel in Abbeyleix was discussed at which long term certificates will be presented to members. Betty Gorman presided over the election of officers Elected were President Noreen Byrne, Vice-President Maura McEvoy, Secretary Maureen Dobbyn, Treasurer Sheila Coonan, Winners Sheila Coonan Maureen Dobbyn Mary Dunne; raffle winners Joan Ferns, Nora Hyland, Peggy Bergin, Maureen Dobbyn, Maura Mc Evoy.
