Sympathy is extended to Willie Percy and family, Kylehaw on the recent death of Willie’s sister Mrs. Irene Kennedy, Cork Road, Stradbally, Co. Laois. Sympathy also to Mrs. Kennedy’s husband and all members of her family. Mrs. Kennedy died unexpectedly on March 12th in Naas Hospital. Her remains were removed from her residence on Wednesday 14th March to St. Patrick’s Church, Stradbally. Following funeral service the following day she was buried in Oakvale churchyard. May she rest in peace.

The death took place suddenly on March 15 last of Michael Lalor, Clonmeen, Errill. Michael is deeply regretted by his wife Mary, son Pat, daughter Breda, son-in-law, daughter-in-law, sisters, Sheila, Lil and Mary, sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, nephews, nieces, relatives, neighbours and friends. He reposed at his residence from where his remains were removed to Our Lady, Queen of the Universe Church, Errill on Sunday evening 18th March. Burial took place the following day following funeral mass to the Local Cemetery, Rathdowney. A Guard of Honour was provided by members of Fianna Fáil, the Cemetery Committee, local TD’s and Co. Councillors including many of his neighbours and friends. May he rest is peace.


Chef Gavin Cribben will host one of his cookery demonstrations, sponsored by Breslin’s Supervalu, Rathdowney, in Allen’s Lounge, Errill on this Friday 30th March in aid of St. Colmcille’s N.S. Organised by the Parents Council, easy family entertainment is the theme for the night and will give all some ideas for Communions, Confirmations and any other family get-together celebrations. Doors open at 7:15 and the demonstration will start at 8:00 pm sharp. There will be a very impressive raffle during the interval. Also on the night local businesses will be showcasing their own business. Tickets cost €7.50 and are on sale locally. A great night assured so please do come along and support.


The Annual General Meeting of Errill Tidy Towns will take place in the Health Centre on Wednesday 11th April at 8:00 pm. Anybody with an interest in keeping our village clean and tidy is very welcome to attend.
