Sgt Ingrid Moore and Garda Michael Greaney attended last Monday night’s meeting. Sgt Moore gave a very informative talk on the situation they are in, manpower is down everywhere. In Mountmellick they are down one garda so our garda is helping out there. If anyone has a problem or wish to get forms, etc signed please leave a note, with your name and phone number at the station, Garda Greaney will get back to you. He is out in Clonaslee every day but at different times. You may also call to Mountmellick station. Any forms required are available in the Heritage Centre which is open daily. Garda Greany has called to many elderly people and has left his number with them, he will call to the remainder in the near future. Chairman John Cusack thanked Sgt Moore for attending, and said that Clonaslee is a good community but many felt isolated due to lack of garda presence. Garda Moore assured those attending she would do her best but as new rules were coming in at the end of March she couldn’t promise anything. We look forward to her visiting us again. Be vigilant as another break in happened this week. Check on you elderly neighbours and make sure they are ok. Teresa Maloney from Task is always on hand to assist with your monitor alarm. Please wear your panic button at all times.
