We also like to thank Councillor Seamus McDonald, Councillor David Goodwin, Councillor Pat Bowe, Fr Tom Walshe and Rev. Ruth Noble for their continued support. Also Cathrine Lawlor and the Camross Comhaltas for providing music prior to the parade, the Mountmellick Civil Defence for leading the parade, the judges Thomas and Teresa Rafferty who did an excellent job while judging the floats, The Gardaí for traffic control, Ger Hyland and Hyland Transport for the viewing stand, thank you. The vintage collections are a huge part of our parade and we would like to thank owners for there entry Mr Sean Wisely and Councillor Seamus McDonald provided the commemorative medals and we would like to thank them both for this vital support. Also Ms Marian Campbell our Queen of the Mountain 2011 who attended the parade, we look forward to seeing Marian again on 24th June 2011 for this year’s Festival of the Mountain. Most of all chair person Seamus McDonald would like to thank the committee themselves who work so hard prior to and during the St. Patrick’s Day parade without their continuing support the parade would not continue.

A very successful fundraising night was held for Phillip in Goodes Bar Rosenallis. Sean, Mary and Aisling would like to thank David and Noeleen owners of Goodes bar and their family for organising the ngiht. It was a great night with music from Crooked Jack and food from Cafe Rose. We would like to thank everyone from Rosenallis and surrounding areas for their kindness and generosity in supporting Philip. Thank you to everyone who donated prizes for the raffle and who sold tickets. We hope you all had a great night.

Clean up Laois week is on from Monday 16 to 20 April 2012. Clean ups for that week will be organised in the five areas of Rosenallis Clonaheen Capard Reary and Rosenallis we are asking young and old to come out and help us, also young members of the community will receive a certificate which they can use to support their school Green Flag projects. We hope you will come along and help us to take pride in your area.


It is vital that we are able to produce comprehensive and up-to-date evidence about the circumstances of family carers throughout Ireland in 2012 to ensure government funding continues. A forum meeting to get your opinions will be held in Portlaoise Leisure Centre tuesday 20 March at 11am and Regional Carers Forumn will be held at Anne Brooke Hotel Thursday 5 April 2012 at 10.30am All Carers welcome to both meetings to have their voice heard.


Rosenallis Soccer Club are running a club fund raising draw, with over 15 thousand euro in prizes. Tickets are on sale from both players and committee members. They are 10 euro each. Draw will take place on May 7 in the Bridge House Tullamore.


The Green School Committee is giving you the opportunity to get rid of your unwanted scrap metal and batteries. The delivery depots are Shaw’s Garage.
