FAREWELL TO FR PJ MADDEN
Fr PJ leaves at the end of the month to take up his new appointment as Curate in Naas Parish. He has ministered in this parish for the past three years and has touched everyone with his spirituality, good humour and dedicated service. Masses of thanksgiving and farewell will be held on Saturday August 25 at 6.30pm in St Clare’s and on Sunday August 26 at 10.15am in Holy Cross. Refreshments after both masses, Saturday in the parish centre and on Sunday in Killeshin parish hall and all are invited.
There will be a public meeting to discuss the future of Killeshin Hall and Old School on Wednesday August 22 at 8pm in Killeshin Hall.
FEAST OF THE ASSUMPTION
This Wednesday August 15 is a Holy day of obligation. Masses at 11.30am and 7.30pm in St Clare’s and 10.15am in Holy Cross. Please note there will be no 10am Mass on that day in St Clare’s.

KILLESHIN FC LOTTO
There was no winner of the recent lotto jackpot. The numbers drawn were 05, 15, 22 and 27. The four winners of the lucky dips were Eddie Hand, Jamie Byrne, Joe Whelan and Brendan Nolan, each will receive €25 and the seller’s prize of €25 was won by Colm Fitzgerald. The next jackpot stands at €5500 and tickets can be purchased from any club member or from the local shop or public houses at a cost of €2 per ticket.
As part of National Mental Health Awareness Week, September 16 to 22, organised by Laois Community Forum the following events will take place in our Parish. Sunday September 16, 6km walk at Rossmore, assemble for 12.30 in Oisín Park. Details from Mary Hennessy 0872581016. The third event will be on Thursday September 20, a seminar in Graiguecullen Parish Centre, “Living with Loss in our Lives” at 8pm and the speaker will be Rita Kelly of the HSE.
ST PATS BOYS AFC
Anybody interested in playing soccer in the Carlow and District Football League for the forthcoming 2012/13 season, St Patrick’s Boys are back training and would welcome new and existing junior players, men’s, for their first, second and youth teams. Training takes place every Wednesday and Friday evenings from 7pm to 9pm and on Sunday mornings from 11am to 1pm in the Meadows on the Sleaty Road, Graiguecullen. ST FIACC’S HOUSE
St Fiacc’s House proudly announce the opening of their new café. The café will open Monday to Friday from 9am to 5pm. Why not meet your friends for lunch and a chat?

DAY OF RETREAT
Evergreens Day of Retreat in St Fiacc’s House on Thursday August 16 from 10.30am to 3.30pm. The cost, €10 includes lunch. Names to be given to the parish office on or before Friday August 10.

Annual Field Day takes place on Sunday August 19 from 2pm to 6pm. There will be lots of stalls for all to enjoy. See who gets dunked in our dunk tank. Bouncy castles, barrel train and more. Numbers drawn were 14, 19, 23 and 27. There was no Jackpot winner so the next Jackpot will be €10,000, Reserve €9,800. There were two Match 3 winners of €100 each; Frank Corcoran c/o M. OISÍN HOUSE NEWS
Rambler’s night in Oisín House on this Thursday, Aug 16 at 8.30pm. All singers, storytellers, musicians etc. invited. Light refreshments provided and admission is free. Social Dancing at Oisín Park takes a break until mid-September.
