At St Fergal’s in Rathdowney last month, a number of men from the teaching staff volunteered to brave the ridicule of students and staff members alike and grow a mo for Movember.
During November each year, Movember is responsible for the sprouting of millions of moustaches around the world.
With their Mo’s, men raise vital funds and awareness for prostate and testicular cancer and mental health.
As an independent global charity, Movember’s vision is to have an everlasting impact on the face of men’s health.
These young St Fergal’s men managed to go from zero to hairy heroes within the space of four weeks and in the process raise a significant amount of money to aid in battling the curse that is cancer.
The staff members, Pat Roe, William Kiernan, Alan Fogarty, Rory Maher, (names not in order of mo impressiveness) all sported varying styles of very trendy ‘tache’s, even if one or two of them were a little on the grey side..
Between them they raised a very impressive €675 for their month of avoiding razors.
The Mo Bro’s of St Fergal’s would like to thank all of the people who supported them last month and donated so generously to this worthy cause.
