Portarlington Tidy Towns

A survey was conducted by Portarlington Tidy Towns on the number of election posters within Portarlington’s town boundary. There are currently 315 posters and therefore 630 cable ties on poles within the town. This volume of posters littered throughout the town presents a very negative visual impact. Portarlington Tidy Towns Association and other voluntary agencies work tirelessly to enhance the visual landscape of the town making it an attractive place to both live in and conduct business in. The Tidy Towns Association respectfully request that election candidates refrain from putting up any additional posters and when removing the posters take all of the tags off the poles.

Thanks David

Portarlington Tidy Towns association would like to express our gratitude to David Maher for organising and coordinating this year’s annual clean up. Over 200 volunteers helped out on the day. Judging for the Laois inter county litter challenge will commence in May and the National Tidy Towns competition judging will commence in June.
