Over the next couple of weeks volunteers from Camross Community Alert will be calling to every house in Camross Parish. The purpose of these visits are fourfold/namely introduce residents to their local Camross Community Alert volunteers. To provide residents with information on existing/future initiatives eg. CCTV, Text Alert and to receive feedback from you on same. And last but not least to collect much needed funding required to maintain existing services and initiate new services for the communities benefit. In order to deliver a quality service we anticipate that we need to collect €20 from each household in the parish. Volunteers will provide an information pack on all aspects of the Community Alert when they call. We appreciate that €20 is a significant donation in this current economic climate. However any donation will be gratefully received and put to the best use possible. We look forward to seeing you all in the coming weeks. Any queries to Tel- 087 7009609. E-mail: email@example.com Find us on Facebook: camross community alert.
Just a reminder that your Trócaire Lenten Boxes can be returned to Camross or Killanure NS or to either churches.

Charity girls’ night
Paula Delaney from Coolrain found a novel way of raising funds for the Cuisle Centre – a night out for the girls! The event was held recently in Rosie O’Grady’s Pub, Borris-in-Ossory and raised €1,535.38 for the cancer support service. There was a great turnout on the night with Phil Synott from Borris-in-Ossory winning the prize for the Best Dressed Lady, kindly sponsored by Annie Apple, Portlaoise. See pics page 50.
