Rounders training for younger members continues each Sunday morning at 11.40am. Please bring your helmet. Some adults interested in playing games so if you would like to join in do turn up also.

Clonaghadoo Community Care

Social dancing in St Mary’s Hall. Clonaghadoo on Thursday July 17 at 9pm Free bus leaving O’Connell Square, Mountmellick at 8.45pm Admisson €6. Refreshments served.

Rosenallis AFC Soccer Camp

Roesnallis AFC are holding their soccer camp on Monday July 28 to Friday 1st August from 9.30am to 2pm in The Grove. For boys aged 6-12 years old, Bring lunch. Free football. Two dates for your diary at An Sean Chistin, Irey, Ballyfin,Tuesday July 29, rambling house session with special guest Sam O’Doherty, accordionist, Thursday July 31, reliving the memories, an evening of songs, poems and stories of Co.Laois with special guest Tommy Drennan, of The Monarchs Showband fame. Both events at 8pm hosted by Maureen Culleton All are welcome.

Mountmellick Men’s Shed

Members of Mountmellick Men’s Shed recently enjoyed a trip to Portlaoise and Rathdowney Men’s Sheds. The next meeting will be Tuesday July 15 at 7.30pm in Wolfe Tone Court. New members welcome anytime. We are investigating obtaining a premise/ shed, disused building that can house the tools of the trade. If anyone knows of such a place please contact us on 087 657 8736.

James fintan lalor

This year’s James Fintan Lalor School takes place on October 17/18 at the Dunamaise Arts Centre in Portlaoise. Just some of the speakers confirmed so far include John Lonergan, Fianna Fáil leader Micheál Martin, Sean O’Rourke of RTÉ.
