Graiguecullen/ Killeshin Parish Rainbows Group offers a 14 week Peer Support Programme for children age six plus who have experienced loss through the death of a close relative, separation of their parents or other painful change in their family. Rotary Club of Carlow presents an Autumn Fashion Show in aid of Éist, Talk it Over, Delta Centre, Carlow / Kilkenny Homecare and Carlow Day Care on this Wednesday 24 September in the Seven Oaks Hotel starting at 8pm. Tickets €15 and there is a door prize on offer. The interval entertainment is “Abba Moments” and will be performed by the magnificent Delta Players. Please support.

St Fiacc’s House Library open for lending Monday to Friday from 10am to 12 noon from Monday last. This is a free service and all people from the Parish are welcome to come and borrow a book and donate your used books if you wish.


Recent lotto result were 01, 05, 06 and 29 and there was no winner. The €25 lucky dip winners were Sam Alcock, Catherine Doyle, Denise McDonald and Vera Bolger. The seller’s prize went to Denise McDonald. The Jackpot now stands at €7,400.

It’s the start of the new season and training for ‘A’ and ‘B’ teams has commenced on Monday nights at 7.30pm and new players are very welcome. Whist night that runs on Wednesdays will take a summer break until early September and they would like to take this opportunity to thank all those who supported the whist.


Boxes of envelopes are now available at the doors of our churches and we ask each family to take a box and use the envelopes to make your contributions to the Parish Development Fund and other special collections. The Parish Financial Statement for 2013 is also available at the church doors.

Governey Park Residents Association, would like to thank most sincerely all those residents who have made their annual contribution towards the upkeep of our green areas. They have had a good response this year, however, if you haven’t gotten around to making your contribution, please do so by giving it to a member of the Residents group. They would like to thank the members of the group for collecting envelopes etc. this year. It was a great team effort.

St Clare’s Children’s Choir, on Mondays from 4.30pm to 5.30pm in the Parish Centre. The choir is open to all primary school children and first year secondary school students. New members more than welcome.

Parish Youth Choir has resumed on Saturdays from 12.45 to 2pm in the Parish Centre. The choir is open to all secondary school students and young adults. Musicians also very welcome.


Killeshin Schoolhouse Graiguecullen renovation project will host a Kevin Dundon Cookery Demo with an Artisan Food and Craft Market in the Lord Bagenal Hotel on Thursday 23 October commencing at 5pm with a cookery demo at 7.45pm. Graiguecullen Ladies and Juvenile Girls 4k Fun Run is on Sunday September 28 at 12 noon. Pre-register in the clubhouse from 10.30 am and €5 is the entry fee. The run is open to everyone walkers, joggers and runners. Prizes for the first male and female.

Thursday Morning Club has resumed after the 10am Mass in St Clare’s. People are invited to come to the Parish Centre for tea or coffee and some friendly chat.

Blessing of Pets will coincide with the Feast of St Francis, Patron Saint of Animals, Birds and all pets, on Saturday 04 October at 5.30pm at the Parish Centre. All are invited to bring their pets for this special blessing.


Talk it Over, Suicide, Bereavement and Loss Service are having an open information evening in the Seven Oaks Hotel on this Thursday, 11 September at 8pm.
