THE LATE SEAN MCEVOY
The death occurred (suddenly) on February 19 of Sean McEvoy, son of Nickey and Nina, No 7 Woodview, Stradbally. His remains were reposing at his home until removal on Thursday morning to the Church of the Sacred Heart and following which burial took place in Oakvale Cemetery. Sean, a young man in his early 20s, is survived by his heartbroken parents, brothers Paul and Mark, and his extended family to whom we tender our deepest sympathy.

Debating titles: That this house would impose an all out ban on smoking tobacco, That this house would arm the gardai, that this house would make voting compulsory, that this house would make organ donation compulsory and that this house believes sport should be all about participation. Laois county quiz final will be held in Killenard on March 7 at 7pm. Please register teams with co-ordinators before event at 6.45pm, thank you.
Mountmellick will host this years talent show with the date of March 15 being set aside for same. Venue yet to be confirmed. Starting time will be 5.30 approx. Laois cycling finals and also duathlon to be held in Emo on April 5. County art final closing date is March 2. Round 1 Leinster matches February 28 - March 7. Round 2 March 14 - 21. Leinster finals April 7 Edgeworthstown, Co Longford. National annual general meeting takes place on 23 and 24 of this month.
