The Kildare & Leighlin Diocese recently celebrated the commitment and achievement of over 200 young people who have been involved the Pope John Paul II Gold Awards. These young people, representing 34 parishes & 23 post primary schools/colleges across the Diocese engaged in youth ministry and voluntary work in their churches & communities. Special congrats to Aoibheann Clifford, Aideen Dunphy, Aideen Lawlor, Nicole Mc Kenzie and Oisin O Callaghan from the parish who received their Pope John Paul Gold awards and thanks for their work.

Active Retirement

Active retirement is back. New members welcome. We meet in the Old school community hall at 1pm every Wednesday.

Ballina kill Credit Union is now open every Friday evening from 3-4pm.


Walkers continue to meet every morning in the square. All are welcome.

Senior Citizens

The Ballinakill parish senior citizens party was held recently and everyone who attended wish to thank the Parish Pastoral Council and Margaret Keohane and staff for a very enjoyable day.


Bingo is now back in the old hall. Over €1,200 in prizes every week and a raffle. Please support and you might be lucky.

Vintage Rally.

A public meeting will be held in the Old School Community Hall on Thursday February 20th to determine the future direction of the Ballinakill Vintage Rally. All suggestions, ideas etc., suitable for the improvement/enhancement of the event will be the focus of discussion on the night. All are welcome to attend.

Schools table quiz

Well done to all the children from Ballinakill National School and Knock National School who participated in the Credit Union Quiz in the Manor hotel in Abbeyleix recently. Best of luck to everyone going forward to the next round.
