A rare opportunity to see two methods of threshing when both come together on Sunday, September 14 to work and support Knock National School’s Threshing day. Horses and steam engines will tackle the threshing and they will be joined byclassic cars, vintage tractors, machinery and static engines, in what is sure to be a fun filled day. The Threshing day is part of Knock NS’s fundraising project “Renovation for Education” which to raise funds for the building of new classrooms at the school near Abbeyleix. The event is being held at Dayton’s farmyard besides the school. Culture night Exhibition
On Culture Night September 19 there will by an open studio exhibition at Fruitlawn, Abbeyleix 3-7pm by artist Carol Booth at Fruitlawn, Abbeyleix. Carol’s studio was built in Fruitlawn Gardens designed Arthur Shackleton. Everyone is welcome to come and visit the studio and wander around the garden. For directions contact- 057 8730146.

The Spink branch music classes resume in September with registration for members on Friday, September 12 in Knock Hall, Spink at 7pm. Adult classes commence in October. Spink branch operates a comprehensive instrument bank for junior members which allows high quality instruments to be rented at a low cost. Contact email@example.com for more details.
The branch also celebrated the end of a successful season during which they hosted the Laois Fleadh and a number of members represented Laois at the All Ireland Fleadh in Sligo earlier this month.
