Wedding bells rang out in the Church of the Sacred Heart, Stradbally on Saturday, June 6, 2015 on the occasion of the marriage between Sharon Lawlor, daughter of Kieran and Lillian, Cork Road, Stradbally and Bernard Brennan, son of Margaret Brennan, Kilcrow, Athy. The bride was attended to with her bridesmaids Edel Lawlor, Ellen Barry and Gemma Corcoran, while the flowergirls were Rachel and Kate Dooley. The bestman was Patrick Brennan, and the groomsmen were Anthony Dooley and Wayne Barry. Fr Sean Kelly performed the marriage ceremony and soloists and music in the church was by Diane Mallon with John and Dean Maher. The reception for 180 guests was held in Mount Wolsely Hotel, Tullow and we wish them the very best of luck in the future.
THE LATE LIAM BURKE
The death occurred on Tuesday, June 9 of Liam Burke, 25 Church Avenue, Stradbally and late of Ballyadams, at Droimnin Nursing Home, Stradbally. Deeply regretted by his wife Josie, daughters Geraldine, Mairead, and Eileen, sons Emmet, Joseph and William, daughters-in-law, sons-in-law, sister Kathleen, grandchildren, relatives, neighbours,
and his many friends. His remains were reposing at The Presentation Chapel, Stradbally from Wednesday last until removal to The Sacred Heart Church for funeral mass on Friday, followed by interment in St Joseph’s Cemetery, Ballyadams.

SPONSORED MID-SUMMER NIGHT WALK

STRADBALLY VINTAGE RALLY
A reminder that the Stradbally Vintage Club Rally will be held this year on Sunday, June 21 at the Lawn. Admission €5, children free.
The Steam Train will be running at this event from 12.30pm to 4pm on the day.
HIGH SCHOOL CHOIR USA in Timahoe
On Tuesday, June 16 at 7.30pm in St Michael’s Church, Timahoe, a most unique event will take place. 65 young people from California USA will perform in St Michael’s Church, Timahoe.
Medley Day will be held in Timahoe on Sunday, July 12 commencing at 2pm. A number of events have been organised for the day. A 5k fun family run, walk, or crawl has been arranged for 12 noon. Entrance for adults is €10 with children free.
The Laois County Council Summer Arts Programme takes place in the Laois Arthouse, Stradbally from Tuesday, August 4-6. Over the three days artist Wendy Wright will learn participants learn about different techniques in painting, artcraft and creative sculpture. All workshops run for over two hours over three days and cost €25. Places are limited so early booking is advised. SENIOR SURFING INTERNET CLASSES
Senior surving internet classes will take place over six Tuesday afternoons in Stradbally Library. Participants will learn how to use gmail, facebook, skype and tv/radio playback. The first class is on Tuesday, June 16 from 1.30pm-3.30pm. Classes are €20 per person with only 10 places available on each course, it is advisable to book early. Contact 0578661900.

The Vicarstown Recreational Group outing to Letterkenny is on Monday, June 22 departing 9am sharp from the old school house. Patrons travelling to the Giants Causeway are advised to bring £25 sterling on the day. Walking from the bridge, Vicarstown every Wednesday evening at 8pm.
