Camross Macra held their AGM on August 30. Elected Office for the upcoming year are: Joe Phelan chairman, Lucy Keenan secretary, Caroline Bergin treasurer, Emma Phelan PRO, Alison Holmes competitions, Ronan Phelan agri competitions. Good luck to all throughout the year. Camross Macra would like to congratulate John Mortimer on his recent leadership award. John was recently awarded a silver leadershp award in Ennis. It was a much deserved award for all his hard work and dedication to Camross Macra throughout the years. A gentle reminder to all members that membership is now due for the upcoming year.


Camross ICA resumed their meetings after the Sbreak, as president Maud McGlynn is on holidays in Turkey Ann Dooley vice president presided. Votes of sympathy were passed with the Phelan and Thompson families on the death of Mrs Joan Thompson Clonohill. Joan was a member of this guild before she joined with Borris-in-Ossory when they started their guild. Also with mary Cuddy Bacca chairperson of Killanure guild on the death of her father-in-law the late Johnny Cuddy. Mrs Joan Hegarty on the death of her sister and anyone else who had a bereavement since our last meeting and prayers were offered for everyone. Thanks was extended to all members who helped with hampers at the field day as proceeds are going towards the parish funds.

Vintage Club

Camross Vintage Club handed a substantial cheque to Fr Lalor at the weekend. Every little goes to pay off our debt and everyone in the parish is very happy to see our nearing an end especially with the times we are living in.

Fr Lalor 25 years in the Parish

Fr Lalor celebrated 25 years in the Pparish last Monday with a lovely get together after the Lotto. No one knew a word about it until he told us. We hope that he will enjoy many more happy years with us.

Camross Scouts

A big thank you to everyone who gave so generously last weekend at our church gate collection in Killanure and Camross, it is much appreciated.

Beavers and Cubs are resuming this Wednesday, September 12 with a hike in Cardtown from 6pm to 7.30pm.
