The local centre of the PTAA will be hosting the Carlow regional meeting in September. Pins will be presented at this meeting. Anyone wishing to order a gold or silver pin should contact Mary Warren, Phil Dormer or Alice Dowling before this Thursday August 29.


Last week’s winners in the Crettyard Footballers Lotto were Cormac Murphy, Monavea, Chris Kealy, Clonbrock, Mary Wheatley, Doonane and Paul O’Shea, Newtown. The winning numbers were 9-15-16-29.


The recent charity cycle was a great success. A total of €17,000 was collected and is being distributed towards Cancer Care, Suicide, Aware and Down Syndrome in the local areas.

Leinster 60 x 30 Finals

The club had three players involved in Leinster 60 x 30 finals during the week but unfortunely all were beaten despite very good displays. On Saturday in Ballymore Eustace, Ciara Dowling and Niamh Dunne Cullohill faced Sabrina Hughes and Audrey McCormack of Dublin in the Ladies Junior B final after a really tough battle the girls went down 18-21 15-21. In the mens 60 x 30 junior B final Andrew Dowling and Peter Whelan were also beaten after another really tough game losing 11-21 11-21 to Brendan and Diarmuid Burke Kilkenny.
