Laois Hospice AGM
The Laois Hospice Foundation annual public meeting takes place on Friday, January 17 at 8pm in the Killeshin Hotel, Portlaoise. Special guests are Mr Sean O’Rourke and Ms Eileen Dunne of RTÉ.
Why not come along and hear about hospice services in Laois and where the monies collected are spent.

slieve bloom meeting
The Slieve Bloom Association will hold its next meeting on Thursday January 16, ICA Hall Mountmellick at 8.30pm. The group aim to promote the Slieve Bloom Amenity Area, while protecting its unique landscape.
Anyone like-minded and interested in joining, is welcomed to the meeting.

Comhaltas returned to classes on January 7. Classes are busy preparing to play at Mass on January 19 in Mountmellick. Also continued success to Darragh Ward whose ballad group is still in the Scór competitions.
Sarsfields annual presentation night is on Friday January 17 in O’Loughlin’s Hotel, Portlaoise. The highlight of the evening will be the presentation of medals to the 2013 winning teams; Leinster Senior Club Championship, Laois Senior Championship, Laois League Div 1, Laois Intermediate Championship and Laois Minor Championship. The presentation to the winning U12 team will take place at the end of January. The AGM will be held on Friday January 24. The meeting will hear reviews of 2013 and elect officers and committees for the coming year. All are welcome to attend.
